Here at Cain Hill we encourage other people that are interested in the Rottweiler breed, to ask us questions that they may have. Whether it is about breeding, showing, or questions about having one as a companion, no question is a dumb one and we will be more than happy to answer them if we can.

For questions pertaining to the purchase of one of our puppies, if you have a specific litter that you are interested in that we have or are planning to breed just let us know when you contact us. We may have avaliable puppies that have not been posted on the website or we may know of a reputable breeder that will have a puppy that will be more suitable so call us or send us an email and we will be able to help you.

Sometimes, getting in touch with us by phone can be a bit of a task. We are , at certain times, extremely busy with neonates or our young puppies as we try and spend as much time with them socializing them as much as possible. We also own and operate poultry houses on our farm so our free time is very limited. So if you were unsuccessful reaching us by phone, just drop us an email and we can either email you or if you had prefer us to contact you back by phone we will do so within 24 hours after emailing us. You can reach us at home during the hours of 12:30pm-2:30pm and after 6:30pm 7 days a week or you can reach us at our cell phone at anytime.

If we have already given you driving directions and set up a time for you to come out do make sure you arrive at the appointment time we have set for you or try and let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to come earlier or later. We keep 1 - 5 of our adult Rottweilers turned out of the kennels at all times unless we put them indoors due to hot weather conditions or we may have 1 or 2 bitches confined indoors raising puppies. If my husband and I are not present when someone arrives at our home our adult dogs are very territorial (a breed characteristic) so we must be fully aware of any guests arriving at our home for safety purposes. Our dogs are not aggressive in any way (and can be interacted with under our supervision) but will act accordingly to strangers on our property if we are not within their sights and personally introduce anyone to them that they do not know. All strange adults must be properly greeted by us and the dogs introduced even if you have been introduced to the dogs before. If unable to come we will be more than happy to reschedule for a later time. ***Please view the "Dog Safety" suggestions we have posted on the General Info page***

Be prepared when inquiring about one of our pups. We do ask alot of questions. They are an aid to us in making sure everyone gets the right puppy to fit their home and lifestyle. We want to make sure that our babies go to the right homes and are well taken care of throughout their lifetime as well. We do our very best to ensure dog and owner are both happy so we do reserve the right to make the final decision in which puppy is placed in which home (although we do take into account which puppy is prefered by the new owner). We will not place puppies with breeders unless we know the breeders personally and the purpose for the pup will only to be to improve or to wipe out a cosmetic fault in the breeders lines (in other words "to better the breed") and not to just produce puppies to make money (see the vet link below for the explination of Backyard Breeders).

Questions that may be asked:

What type of personality in a pup would best suit you? Do you prefer low/moderate/high play drive? What do you intend on doing with the puppy (breeding, conformation showing, working, just for pet, AKC canine sports like agility or rally)? Where will you keep the puppy? Will there be anyone at home during the day to see after the puppy? Have you ever owned a Rottweiler before or do you presently own one (and how old and is it male or female)? Are you a breeder? If so how many litters have you produced? Do you have other dogs (if so how old and is it/they male or female)? Do you have children (if so how old)?
