2009 Litters

 This page is for litters that have not been whelped and litter anouncements. If pups have been critiqued in a litter and are ava. they will be posted on our "For Sale" page. If anything changes we will post it ASAP. At times we have avaliable, pedigrees for the litters due to be whelped. If we have a pedigree generated for a litter, it will be posted under the sire & dam's name with the expected dates of whelp and we research every dog listed in our pedigrees and we try very hard to make sure we have all titles and accomplishments included in their names. If you see a title you do not recognize, the AKC will more than likely have that information and their website is www.akc.org. You may also see titles and their meanings on the back of an AKC compiled pedigree if you have ordered one in the past.

Additional Information: Scarlet is our largest breeding female and we expect her litters to be small in number but puppies themselves to be on the larger end of the standard. Her OFA hip and elbow certification will be done in early fall. We will not know the price range for the litter until several weeks after birth. We will reserve puppies out of this breeding or other future breedings for people having been approved to purchase one after speaking with us but one must keep in mind that this particular female is high risk to having trouble conceiving as well as birthing puppies because of her size and build so there may be more of a chance that the puppy will have to be chosen from a different dam due to complications.

Additional Information: Kaos will finish up her health certifications the first week of December, shortly afterward she will begin her cycle. This litter is going to be our most promising yet, producing puppies that we are going to be very proud of in temperament and structural quality. We will reserve puppies from this breeding but we are unable to quote any price ranges for pet or show puppies at this time.

                                                                                              Puppy Prices:

The prices on our puppies vary. We take into account parentage, size+proportion, and how close they match the breed standard. Sex is never a factor in determining the price of a puppy. Puppies placed as "show quality" come with a hip and elbow guarantee of up to 30 months of age. Limited registration will be assigned to pups ONLY if they have a disqualifying fault at the time of 8 weeks of age as per the FCI (foreign) and AKC breed standard. (Limited registration is reserved for dogs that are not of breedable quality that have a disqualifying fault as per the breeds standard and we do not use limited status as means of monetary gain and any breeder using this valuable tool offered by the AKC as such should be AVOIDED) Prices will also be determined by how many litters the bitch has previously whelped and if the breeding pairs parents + past dogs in their pedigrees can be researched through the OFA database for dysplasia, eye, or cardiac problems that are hereditary. That helps us to be able to better estimate the future outcome of the pups out of the breeding pair. All research through the OFA database is done BEFORE breeding takes place and if there is a high risk of any structural or temperament flaws that will be passed on to the future offspring then all breedings between the pair are cancelled. In severe cases one or both dogs will be culled from our breeding program.

We will gladly ship puppies to anywhere in the US and to most parts of the world. If we handle the travel arrangements then we require that all fees for the shipment to be payed for in full when the dog is purchased and this is before the health certificate is done. Shipment fees will include all fees for health certificate/s, vaccinations required for travel/exporting, travel crate, and any travel crate supplies needed for the shipping. If the person purchasing the puppy had rather make the arrangements for travel and pre-pay for them then the price for the health certificate/s, vaccinations required for travel/exporting, travel crate, and travel crate supplies needed for the shipping will need to be added in with the price of the pup and payed for in full when the puppy is purchased. Transfer of fees will need to be done before the puppy goes for the vaccinations and health certificate. We do accept paypal and cash payments. We will set up payment plans on future litters and the total purchase price amount must be met by the time the puppy reaches 8-10 weeks of age. If it is not the amount payed will be applied to a puppy out of the next planned breeding.

                                                                                              Breeding Definitions

Linebreeding: The mating of two dogs that share one or more commen ancestors in the immediate pedigree (Generations 2 through 4)Example: It is very commen in a champion or imported bloodline to see a Grandsire to Granddaughter breeding.

Outcross Breeding: The mating of two dogs that do not share any commen ancestors in the first 5 generations.

Inbreeding: The mating of two dogs that share a commen ancestor in the immediate pedigree (First generation only, example: Mother/Son, Father/Daughter, half siblings *most commenly used*, and full siblings.)

 Anything past the 5th generation lines are too dilluted to be of any significance.

Breeders use these three genetic tools to fix flaws in their offspring or to enhance certain features that breeders strive to keep in their bloodlines or to obtain in order to produce the best quality puppies that they can. Every serious breeder should know that overusing the inbreeding and linebreeding tool can create more problems than it can fix if not done properly or not done with outcrossing. Inbreeding and linebreeding will enhance every good trait and characteristic of the breeding pair, but both under any circumstances, do not need to have any temperment nor disqualifying faults. If there is a flaw present however, for example a weak topline in the bitch, the stud can not have the same flaw. He must make up for the bitch's weaknesses in structure, and vise versa. Even though you will be enhancing the good traits of both dogs, it will also enhance any flaws that they or the dogs in the past generations had three fold. 25% of the litter will more than likely form the same flaw if it is a line breeding, and  50% for an inbreeding. As a rule of thumb, if either one, whether it is line, outcross, or inbreeding that is used never breed a bitch nor a dog that has any disqualifying faults as listed in the breed standard (bad bite, bird of prey or yellow eyes, curly or long coat are just a few examples). We go by both the FCI and the AKC breed standard when choosing our stock.
